From the hall take the footpath immediately outside the gate and proceed to the right and then right again onto the main footpath. Shortly, where paths cross, turn right. Continue on this footpath for 325 yards across the green keeping houses to the right. On reaching Earlswood turn right and bear left and continue towards Vetchfield and Chandlers. At the T junction take the footpath directly opposite and follow this. Cross Sunningdale and then proceed down the right hand side of Chisenhale to its junction with Oundle Road and Ham Lane (Notcutt’s Garden Centre).

Proceed down Ham Lane and immediately before the level crossing turn left, take the footpath to the right and at every junction bear right following the railway until a bridge appears on the right. Cross the bridge and follow the footpath ahead to the left of the road as far as the Watersports Centre.

Keeping the car park to the right proceed along the lakeside footpath turning left to keep a smaller lake to the right and Gunwade to the left. Pass a footbridge to your right and proceed to the Pontoon Bridge. After crossing the Pontoon Bridge turn right. Follow the footpath alongside Overton Lake bearing right to cross Ham Bridge. Then immediately turn left to follow the riverside footpath to cross a footbridge and then the Goldie Lane level crossing.

Having crossed the railway turn left and keeping the railway to the left and the golf course to the right proceed to the Orton Mere car park and level crossing where you turn right and proceed to the traffic lights on the Oundle Road. Cross the Oundle Road and proceed up The Village past Orton Hall and The Ramblewood, then the church and then after about 100 yards take the next turning right into Redwood for Orton Woods.

Proceed through the woods for about 700 yards but before the bend to the right turn left and leave the woods. Turn right and follow the footpath past the end of Lady Lodge Drive/Elstone for about 800 yards until reaching a bend to the right where there is a brick wall and then the side walls of two houses, one marked “Stagsden”. Then after about 20 yards turn right into a footpath that leads into Cherry Orton Road. After about 250 yards turn left into Glebe Avenue.
